This blog started out being about about my adventures in entering the dating world after a 30 year absence. I just turned 50 in 2014 when this blog began. When I started this blog, my kids had left the nest and I was trying to figure out dating after a very long hiatus.
I am an overweight, professional woman living in a big city. I have been learning so much about myself since beginning this blog. The challenges of dating, new relationships, old relationships that have faded, work, entrepreneurship and so much more. I live in a city focused on looks, youth and materialism, so my journey has been an interesting challenge both personally and professionally.
If you want to the juicy, sexy posts, start at the beginning. If you want the ramblings of a woman going through a full blown midlife crisis of confidence and career angst, then start around mid-year 2017 through 2018.
Most of all, thank you for taking a peek. Comments are always welcome.
My blog title comes from the Depeche Mode song, “A Question of Lust”. The tag line “Love My Way, It’s a New Road” is from the classic Psychedelic Furs (I saw them in concert during my youth). But the song from my youth that is more appropriate for this phase of my life is the classic Cyndi Lauper, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.
Some boys take a beautiful girl
And hide her away from the rest of the world
I want to be the one to walk in the sun
Oh girls they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have ……

I like your style. My blog, marriedheat, is all about monogamy, and I’m all about monogamy with my wife, so my following you is a deviation from my purpose. I’m interested in your adventures and your honesty in expressing them. I wish you well and hope you find what you’re searching for.

Depeche Mode is the first rock concert I ever attended. Of course at the time, I had no idea what they were saying, I hadn’t started to learn English yet. That’s how I started really, trying to figure out the lyrics 🙂
I didn’t know the Psychedelic furs, but I do know Cindy. One of the songs dear to my heart is just the one you mention here 🙂
I mean, why should only boys be allowed to have fun?!
I haven’t been following yu long, so how is the sex part coming along for now? I think it is a very good goal to have. It was so liberating for me, after years of abuse or neglect!
And even if Bono may still be right for now, we will find what we are looking for 🙂

The sex part is doing quite well – thank you! I want to segue way from one-night stands into a more steady relationship and try dating as a real grown-up rather than the young college student i was. I think you and Bono are right for now – i’m still searching.

But it’s nice to have the one night stands too. Makes you feel alive, sexy, like you finally EXIST, doesn’t it? 🙂

I will never knock a great romp and a sexy night. Check out a post I wrote in September about a threesome. Very sexy evening.

I think I’ll take a rain check. I have to get going, and it would probably make me way too jealous right now 😉
But I’ll keep it in mind 😀

[…] Maggie May at 50 : I want to be Maggie. She is so open and honest about the end of her marriage, but even better, I can relate to her on so many levels in her dating life. Maggie’s dating stories are hysterical and keep me in fits of giggles…. I wish I could keep up with Maggie and her men! […]
